These stories are made up

Michael Barrish explains an important thing.

My real point is that stories are always made up, even when they're about something that really happened.

I realise that if I indiscriminately write up journal entries a lot are going to me very dull indeed. However, I want these journal entries as a history of my life. But, you the gentle reader will just fall asleep.

So I've made a plan. Be aware of the above quote in the future.

Another quote for you, from Ftrain.com

All world media is predicated on lies and fabrications.

death by alien abduction

TheSpark.com's Death Test! [via kryogenix.org] claims I'm going to die in 2048 at the ripe(ish) age of 75.

Apparently, I have a 7% chance of dying by being abducted by aliens, although cancer is more likely. How come I'm going to live ten years longer that Aquarius? Buggered if I know.

Moulin Rouge

Aquarius on Moulin Rouge

If a fine film is like a fine wine, then Moulin Rouge is cocaine

I was astonished by the visual and music impact of Moulin Rouge. Very much in your face. I was also astonished by the quality of the singing and dancing of all the actor's involved. There was also much humour, I especially liked "Like A Virgin".

This film was not about plot or substance, although there was a story. Let the music and the sheer event of watching it take you on a rollercoaster journey.

Personal Note: I didn't see this is the cinema, and wish I had. We picked Moulin Rouge to see and planned to go out. We even had a babysitter. But the night we chose was September 11th 2001. Other events during that day meant we didn't quite feel like going.

The Eleven Day Empire

Thoughtful story about the missing 11 days of the Calendar act.

Lawrence Miles set the home of Faction Paradox within the missing 11 days of The British Calendar Act of 1751. Impossibly, they lived in the Eleven-Day Empire. Weird idea when you think about it.

Faction Paradox Comics

Outpost Gallifrey: The Doctor Who News Page reports that there is going to be comic book series for Faction Paradox. This is the press release:-

Lawrence Miles' FACTION PARADOX property evolves into an ongoing, bi-monthly, full color comic book series in March or April 2003 (exact schedule TBD). The comic is published by Lars Pearson's Mad Norwegian Press and marketed/sold through Image Comics, America's third largest comic book company.

Miles will personally handle the comic's writing chores, with the comic's creative team to include: artist Jim Calafiore (The Book of the War, Exiles, Aquaman), inker Peter Palmiotti (Aquaman), letterer Metaphorce Designs (www.metaphorcedesigns.com), colorist Paul Mounts (The Ultimates) and editor Lars Pearson (the I, Who series).

The FACTION PARADOX comic concerns the survivors and after-effects of the "War in Heaven" as outlined in Miles' "Doctor Who" novel Alien Bodies and the imminently released Faction Paradox: The Book of the War (shipping now from Mad Norwegian Press). The FACTION PARADOX comic is fully compatible with The Book of the War and BBV Productions' Faction Paradox Protocols audios, although you DO NOT need to read The Book of the War or listen to the audios to enjoy the comic book.

Ref misses drive by elbowing

While Fergie backs up Beckham, Arsene spouts some rubbish :-

'You can basically kill somebody if the referee was not in a good position to see it properly and you can still do nothing about it. So let's investigate the FA and see what comes out.'

Over the years, Mr. Wenger has famously "not seen" a lot of things, so I don't think he's the best person to comment on this.

Maybe if they introduced video evidence during the game ... Then the referee could have another look at what Beckham did and decide.

The Lady is for Turning

Ah well, at least Ferguson has gone back on his previous statement about Keane. As I said, he shouldn't have commented on it, especially as he hadn't seen it properly.

That aside, he's got my respect for public saying he was wrong. He'd do even better if he could clean up Keane.
