DOM Image Annotation

Tuesday, November 9th, 2004

Stuart has written a new DHTML script called DOM Image Annotation to do “Flickr”:http://www.flickr.com like stuff to images.

Cool stuff. I had an idea two years ago to do something like this, but it was a weird image refractal idea that you clicked into the picture and it lead you somewhere strange and interesting, like an interactive fiction map. Never got to the planning stage that one.

Added to growing list of links to stick in the blogaggregatorwiki-software-that-will-never-be project that will never start because in this summer I went outside and played with the children instead and this winter I’m learning new stuff with the Open University.

IE7

dean.edwards.name/IE7/

What a fascinating hack for Internet Explorer. It uses DHTML to essentially parse certain advaned CSS functions and convert it into CSS that IE understands and therefore it displays correctly.

I’ve seen a growing number of very clever things being done with Javascript and DHTML now, it has long since passed dodgy javascript only menus that turned people of the technology.

Tantek’s Top 100 CSS Redesign

Tuesday, January 27th, 2004

In a fun and interesting experiment, Tantek is redesigning his blog, based on some of the Top 100 Technorati.

It should be useful to see a wide variety of styles redone as CSS presentation only (No tables/GIFs says Tantek). He’s started with “Boing Boing”:http://boingboing.net/

Grand Designs Wars SOS From Hell

Tuesday, September 30th, 2003

A redesign then. Got bored with the last one and decided to go back to the basics one.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find my original CSS file. Luckily, “PapaScott”:http://www.papascott.de/ is still using my design, so I stole it back.

A few minor mods, and here we are. At the same time, I made my MT set up “cruft free”:http://diveintomark.org/archives/2003/08/15/slugs

Before this entry would have had a URL of

now it is just
