oggi, siamo tutti italiani

I’d decided never to update this blog again[1], but I couldn’t let this one slide.

Despite gilmae professing his hated of the sport (and if you watched Australia at football, you’d think it was boring too), today, we are all Italians.

I am hopeful that in return, gilmae will never be Portuguese. At least let him be Argentinian.

As an aside, Liverpool fans will be not very astonished to learn that Harry Kewell has risen to new heights in match avoidance. Apparently, he had gout.

7 Swiss football fans are recovering in hospital after last night’s thriller put them into a coma. They were revived by Graham Poll reading them their last rites three times.

And finally, rain fell in the south of England for the first time in 6 months. Global warming experts believe the only way to avert a UK drought is to play Wimbledon 365 days a year. Can all the football flagged car driving band wagon jumpers now piss off and watch the tennis, please? Come on, Tim!

I don’t know that I would use a term quite as strong as hate in reference to soccer. After all, my problem with the activity is that it is devoid of any ability to raise emotion at all.

Oh, and I hear Kewell also had leprosy and polio.
