You must also avoid the tv listings guides. Especially the listing for Doctor Who in the Radio Times. And, yes, I peeked. And squeaked.

I heard about this, and I was very lucky. I read the Radio Times with the Behind the Scenes bit and I read the episode listing and totally failed to bother looking at the character list.
Perhaps I was subconciously saved by hearing about the IMDB listing

Also, avoid the TV Times entirely. She says looking at the cover of her copy wot she bought especially.

Ah, so really I need to avoid going into any newsagents.
We’re just lucky that it was spoiled by the trailer at the end of “Bad Wolf”

I’m fairly sure that doesn’t give this bit away. Which is, of course, where discussion must end.

For a while, I entertained the thought it was the Shift, following the Doctor around, making him(us) see Bad Wolf everywhere.
So, the TV times doesn’t have a picture of the doctor and a headline saying “Hello readers, my name is Shift and I’m a telepathic meme that is trying to warn the doctor about the daleks. Because I’m a sly git, I’m doing this as obtusely as possible.”

As you can imagine, the amount of Milesean ideas in the series has been causing excited phonecalls. “Shadow Proclaimation?!”, “a time war that destroys Gallifrey?”, “repeated memes?”… I tried very hard not to point out the world of Bad Wolf is like the Remote.

Heh, I suppose it is hard to decide whether to be flattered or annoyed not being involved.
