Rounded Borders for Mozilla

May 8th, 2003

I’ve modified the colours for the links after Dorothea correctly pointed out they were a bit dim. Whilst I was at it, I took the opportunity to do some more styling. If you have a “mozilla”:http://www.mozilla.org based browser, you’ll see it as I want it to be, but it still looks okay in other browsers (Anyone on a Mac, please tell me otherwise).

I think it looks pretty nice, and it comes from virtually the same XHTML as the very “basic design”:http://www.dellah.com/orient/2003/01/31/clean_slate.shtml I did a while ago. That’s quite some power CSS brings you.

Speaking of CSS, check out the “CSS Zen Garden”:http://www.mezzoblue.com/zengarden/ Hopefully the start of the next step in CSS design as _real_ web designers take control of CSS instead of us, rather more functional designers.

Yes. If I said yes it would fire up Mozilla and dump random characters onto the screen as if it was displaying a binary. Can’t replicate it at home on IE5/Win2k though, so possibly a proxy thing, because it only ever seems to occur to me at work, occurs on different sites at random and never lasts too long (a day, or maybe a reboot) and never occurs on localhost sites.

Hummmm. It’s seems it’s a problem in our internal proxy here where I work. It’s happening with other sites as well in a randomly fashion. So I guess you don’t need to worry about it.

I can’t reproduce this with either copies of IE6.0 I’ve got here at work and at home (one Win2000 and one XP). gilmae, is this the same effect you talked about?

Hmm, not sure if that is a good or a bad thing :)

The colors are good, but Internet Explorer 6.0 is trying to download the page. I used Mozilla most of the time, but sometimes I fire up IE as well.

Ha, yeah, a certain drawback of viewing through the RSS filter. I like your Aquaintancies thingy btw, something I want to do, I think I mentioned it a while ago. It’s on the List :(

Looks no differant to me. Aquaintancies shows it exactly as it was :-)

It’s got a sort of Star Trek display screens feel about it now :)
