Debunking Creationism

15 answers to Creationist Nonsense is a very well reasoned article. In the current climate where more and more creationist “scientists” are making themselves heard (i.e. the schools that are teaching Creationism) it is good to see an article where the points are discussed.

I can see any anything from the creationist side being as well reasoned, but when do reason come into the thinking?

If you choose to believe a lie such as evolution, feel free. I dont understand why you are afraid to have creation taught in public school. Are you afraid that students might see the truth? How is evolution fact? Did you find a missing link! Is it actually real! With the amount of hoaxes that you have had, how can you honestly beileve that things evolved? Could you take a 2×4 and draw the entire building that it came from? I think not. So how can you draw a species from a tooth or a bone, You can not. Its a shame that such a great naion like the U.S. allow fallicies such as evolution to be taught to their children.

Your ignorance is total. Evolutionary theory is science, creationism is relgion, pure and simple. What specific objections do you have to evolutionary theory (not your strawmen) other than it conflicts with your religious beliefs?

I have a pamphlet created by the Watchtower Society that (at first glance) is a reasoned argument for the existence of God. It has a section on evolution versus creationism.
Actually, to tell you the truth, I believe it is specifically aimed at people who try and argue with Jehovah’s Witnessi on the door step. If you profess to believe science over the bible they give you this pamphlet with its smattering of science used as strawmen.
Would I be afraid to see this pamphlet used as educational material in the school? Damn right, I would. Its science seems plausible. False modesty aside, I can see the strawmen for what they are because I know more than the average high school student, I can reason out the solution to the Eye Paradox without help. I have no faith in the ability of impressionable minds to pick out scientific inaccuracies when they are being presented as truth.
