Why, thankyou. :-)

Still lots to do, though, like optimise the blogging system so that it doesn't take *ages* to display the front page.

I'm debating caching RSS feeds, too, since page display hangs up a bit while fetching the RSS feeds *now*, and there are only two of them. But, then, doesn't caching an RSS feed defeat the point of having an RSS feed?

Sort of defeats the point. However, a 15 minute delay is not going to hurt too much on a weblog. A large company will have the server power to go with the need for instant updates.

Even NASDAQ has a 15 minute delay (or did last time I checked).

Not really, Within the standard there should be provision for "When does this update" type things (I have a dislike of the way the RSS format is presented, it took me quite a while to find out that there isn't one already), a suggestion that should probably be sent to the spec 0.93 committee, but until I can work out whether it has been suggested already or not, I can't be bothered.

For someone who writes so much about weblogging and content systems, the one managing Dave Wiener's userland.com site (eg, http://backend.userland.com/stories/rss091) is horrible.
