Big Breakfast: The End

Friday, March 29th, 2002

I saw a small piece of television history this morning as I watched the last ever Big Breakfast. They did a best of section and it was clear why it had to go, when they didn’t show anything from the last couple of years. I stopped watching it years ago, sadly growing out of that sort of thing. It all went wrong when Zig and Zag left. They were the greatest.

Alzheimers

We are fairly certain my gran is getting Alzheimers.

A couple of things about this story
- My wife thought this film was brilliant and is currently reading the book.
- Jim Broadbent played the Incompetent Doctor in the Comic Relief sketch. In fact, all the Doctors were very well known except Jim Broadbent (Rowan Atkinson, Joanna Lumley, Richard E. Grant and Hugh Grant being the others) so it is especially pleasing to see Jim get an Oscar.

Potentially no Buffy?

ITV Digital goes bust and potentially leaves millions of viewers without television. This leaves the UK goverments plans of removing analog television in tatters.

In truth, I was moving from ITV Digital as soon as my years’ subscription was up. Heading to the Evil Sky Empire, that over the course of the year became cheaper that ITV Digital, more reliable and had more functionality. I’ll just go sooner now.

ITV’s football coverage was rubbish, the live football they showed was overpriced, I was never going to spend £10 per month to watch an occasional Champions League game.

Not as clever as I was hoping

The Death Clock

I was expecting a small questionaire to help this decide when I’m going to die (you know; how much to you smoke; drink etc), but this just takes what is presumably the average age of death for males and females and works it out accordingly.
Morbidly disappointing.

Rheum with a View

hopefully a comedy, pt. 1 - 0(zero)format

I read this with interest, mainly due to my recent brush with the Doctor. In the end, there was the same result in both cases. And, more or less the same feelings. I’ll expand on mine in a later Vent

This will cheer you up

Museum of Depressionist Art

I cannot stress enough how funny the name “Gladys Dwindlebimmers” is.
