The acts commenced on this ball of earth: Upon my tongues continual slanders ride,
I brief catch journal session
Wednesday night is European Football night here. Long had the curse of My Wife held sway over Manchester United in Europe. Everytime she was in, United lost. If she went out, they won. Let this not be seen as an excuse for getting her out of the house, getting a few beers and friends in (plus maybe a pizza, crisps, cigars?) and making it "Batchelor Heaven". This curse was real. And it spread to England matches too. She had walked through the door seconds before Germany scored a vital equaliser in Euro98.
Anyway, the curse was finally lifted the following year when United won the European Cup with my wife present (she was on the phone to a friend, so maybe the curse had been distracted?). It has returned with a cunning twist this year. It is now the "Give a United player a serious injury if my wife is present when playing in Europe."
Thursday finally saw me return to legal driving again. I suppose I can say this now I've sorted it all out. At the end of last month I got a reminder for my car tax renewal and as per usual forgot about it until the day after it expired. This was unfortuantly a bank holiday, but I got all the relevent paperwork out to go to the post office the next day. I couldn't find my MOT certificate anyway. I had the previous years but not the current one (its runs from a year and I have it done in October). I decided I must have lost the current one, perhaps when I was sorting out insurance or something. The back of the previous certificate explained you could get a copy from the garage that performed the test (for a small fee).
So, the next day I phoned the garage where I always have it done. No record of a test in October of last year, just the year before. Odd, I phoned another garage where I might have had it done because it is local. No record either. Okay, now I was worried, where did I have it done? Luckily, my PDA keeps all appointments, so I bought up the month of October 2001. A few nights out, a couple of parties, an appointment for guttering replacement, but no MOT. Uh oh. It suddenly dawned on me that I had no recollection of going to the garage, there is no reminder system as far as I can tell and I usually have it done at the same time as a service (which I get reminded about). Last year, I got the car serviced early because it was acting funny and as we were going on holiday I wanted to get it checked out. So, my MOT had run out six months ago. It just goes to show how easy it is to do something illegal.
Nothing happened Friday that is worth recording, and Saturday consisted of going to TumbleTots with my daughter, doing some gardening and watching Wilde and Artifical Intelligence films in the evening. Wierd seeing Jude Law in both,

Does Emelia like Tumbletots? How is she doing at it all? And does she have her name on her tshirt?
George settles into a pattern, Emilia gets slightly cheekier, I ponder on various things, I watch multiple football games, and read a lot (2)
Lots of work, lack of updates, a decision to make, George is getting fatter and the World Cup starts this week, (2)

It is interesting how two children from the same genetic stock can be so different. Even though he is only... (0)
It is 3am and the only way George will sleep is if I continually walk up and down the living room at a consistent and slow pace. (1)
