The acts commenced on this ball of earth: Upon my tongues continual slanders ride,
Taps feet. No sign of a hint of movement on the baby front. Everyone concerned is very much wishing it was all over. Average time to "roll" out of bed, ten minutes. And Gina takes even longer, ba bum.
Work on Friday was incredibly busy. I'll moan about work another time though. In the evening, we watched Little Mo get sent down. Very clearly a drama rather than a realistic portrayal of a court. Life is rather dull at the moment, because we are getting lots of early nights and I dare not go out and get drunk in fear that I'd have to drive Gina to the hospital as soon as I pass over the drink driving limit.
On Saturday we had Sky installed. It is just so much better than either NTL or ITV Digital, I wish I'd got it last year. Installation was really easy too, bloke turns up. He drills a few holds, I make him a cup of tea. He puts a box under the TV, a few seconds later, pictures appear. He hands me the remote and departs. All in time for United to wip Chelsea 3-0. Nice. Reading scraped though to the 1st Division too.
Sunday, we had fun with a dog in the back garden. No idea where it came from, but the cats were not happy. It disappeared again soon after; I blasted it with my power washer. I only used it because I'd been using it to clean the decking, and it was about to poo on my lawn.
We got some sand for Emilia's new sandpit
and had much fun on a sunny afternoon.
I'm seriously considering getting ADSL now. The latest low offer is from Pipex. 20UKP a month, no installation fees, I'd just have to buy a modem for around 100UKP. What is the catch, I wonder? I remember when I first got internet access and signed up with Netcom Internet. Very good connection (for the time) but it was 15UKP a month, plus the cost of the phone call. So, will ADSL be actually cheaper than that? I still hold back fearful of the "you pay for what you get" factor. Anyone had any experience of it yet?

We're doing the ADSL thing (anything to get rid of HomeHighway quite frankly)... the blue modem thingie arrived yesterday to my husband's joy. Dunno what it does that our terminal adaptor can't do but then I'm not the computer geek. I like the sandbox... it looks fabulous. Did you make it yourself?
Posted by Helen at April 22, 2002 06:48 PMHelen, which modem and provider are you using?
Posted by Sarabian at April 22, 2002 10:19 PMGina's father made the sandbox. I just sanded and varnished it. I've got to dig a hole to put it in yet. Not looking forward to that.
Posted by Sarabian at April 22, 2002 10:20 PMNo updats for a few days now ... and no posting to afec. Something else arrived? Let us know!
George settles into a pattern, Emilia gets slightly cheekier, I ponder on various things, I watch multiple football games, and read a lot (2)
Lots of work, lack of updates, a decision to make, George is getting fatter and the World Cup starts this week, (2)
George's 4 week birthday and Emilia's reaction to George (0)
It is interesting how two children from the same genetic stock can be so different. Even though he is only... (0)
It is 3am and the only way George will sleep is if I continually walk up and down the living room at a consistent and slow pace. (1)
