The acts commenced on this ball of earth: Upon my tongues continual slanders ride,

A mini celebration last night as young George came of age. Now he is virtually a month old, I expect him to get a job, pay rent and wash my car.
Over the last day or two he has been really settled, sleeping well and crying less. In fact, it is ever since I reported his lack of sleep here. Of course, two days a good run does not make, so it's fingers crossed all the way.
Emilia (to answers Helen's question in the comments) is remarkably unaffected by the new arrival so far. He has brought out no bad behaviour in her at all. She remains the cheeky little madam that she has always been, talking away in her own little language that we sort of understand. She'll do things to see what reaction we give her, but she has been doing that for a while, and I doubt it relates to George. She is aware of George and is rather protective of him. When Gina went to see some friends, Emilia "showed" George to everyone, by sitting down next to the car seat and pointing at him.
I think the only change in her that we have noticed is that at a coffee morning, Emilia normally would go off and do her own little thing, be it play with others or play with toys. This week she got a few books and then sat down with them very close to Gina. Whether this is her getting more clingy or "protecting" George, I don't know. She is not at all clingy normally.
This reminds me that I've talked very sparingly about her on this journal. I'll try and address that in future.
One of Gina's friends is having her second and asked whether a side-by-side double buggy or a longer buggy is better. We have one of the long ones. Despite being completely happy with George, Emilia does tend to investigate all George's bits and pieces. This involves a fair amount of poking in tender areas, like eyes, if she can get away with it. I think with a side by side buggy, she would have free range to "investigate" George.

It is 3am and the only way George will sleep is if I continually walk up and down the living room at a consistent and slow pace. (1)
